Purpose of this course This unit standard is for persons required to assess the emergency situation and providing basic Life Support and basic First Aid in order to stabilize patients prior to transfer to the emergency services.

• Demonstrate an understanding of elementary anatomy and physiology
• Assess an emergency situation
• Apply First Aid procedures to the life-threatening situation

Candidates who have never operated a lift truck previously are required to undergo 5 days (8 hours a day) training course. The following documents are to be produced when booking training:
Signed declaration by employer that the operator is medically and psychologically fit to operate the machine.
A minimum of 6 learners is required to run a class.
Should this impact negatively on your operations, we do have public courses running which you can take advantage of for 1 learner at a time. Forklift training is done on your site.
Weekend training can be accommodated at an additional cost of R800 for a Saturday and R1600 on a Sunday. Forklift novice training takes place over 5 days.
